Nice usable rs500
As title , this is a very nice usable rs500 that is a rare thing these days .
This is s matching numbers car ( correct engine that was fitted at Tickford during the conversion)
Bodywork
Showing some nice patina but still looks very nice with a high gloss to the paintwork .
The car has had a pair of front wings and a rear panel at some time in its life , these however have been fitted very well , spot welded as per factory and the panel gaps are all spot on .
This is only noticeable to a very trained eye ( I am a penel beater by trade ) but trust me the average person will not notice due to correct fitment and spot welding as factory .
The rest is very very straight with no signes of repairs ( filler etc ) and with nice straight lines it presents very very well .
Interior
Interior
The interior is also very nice for the cars miles
Good seats and door cards , headliner is not sagging and with very minor cracks in the dash imo a very nice trim .
The original stereo has been replaced with a more modern unit
Wheels
These have been refurbished to a high standard and look great
Mechanical
The engine starts and runs well , it’s on green injectors so pulls well with no rattles or smoke .
The water pump bearing is noisy but will be replaced before sale .
The gearbox is smooth and quiet , however going from 3rd to 4th has a very slight crunch if going in very quickly , if you do a smooth change it doesn’t do it , and it doesn’t do it at all coming down the box .
Diff is perfect .
I have driven the car and it drives very very well
Pulls hard with no issues
It doesn’t rattle and bang at all , in-fact I would say one of the best driving rs500s at its miles I have ever driven .
Fitted with koni suspension so quite s nice ride without being to harsh on the road .
Overview
This imo is a great entry level rs500 at a very realistic price
It looks and drives well and can be used exactly as is and won’t look out of place at any show or club nights .
I like the patina and honestly would only do very minor cosmetic things like the grille seal etc and use the car as it is .
The car has a lot of paperwork going back years to show it has been well maintained .
It’s showing just over 65k miles and is HPI clear
If you are looking for a 500 that can be used and you can add a little value to during your ownership then this is s perfect example
There is the old style logbook not the latest one , previous MOTs and a current MOT for 12 months .
